SPEAKER INFORMATION
Wendi is responsible for creating and facilitating support groups and other programs for children\, teens\, and families impacted by cancer. With 20 years of experience working with chil dren and families impacted by cancer\, Wendi frequently presents to school s and workplaces about what cancer is\, cancer myths\, and how to best sup port someone through cancer.
Prior to coming to Gilda's Club in 2022 \, Wendi was the Oncology Social Worker at Children's Hospital of Michigan for 17 years. Wendi graduated from CMU with her BS in Psychology and rece ived her Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2006. W endi has held a Certificate in Oncology Social Work since 2019\, has been an active member of the Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers s ince 2005\, and sits on several advisory and community boards surrounding pediatric oncology psychosocial care.
When not at Gilda's\, Wendi is out and about with two busy boys ages 10 and 14 and a super-supportive hu sband who keep her supported and happy\, loves supporting Detroit sports t eams\, and being in the sun.
