Schedule in person or online

Making an appointment is easy! You can visit the ARC in Rincker 206 and talk to the student desk worker Monday- Thursday 8:00 am - 8:00 pm; Friday from 8:00 am- 4:30 pm and Sunday 4:00-8:00pm . You can also visit or click the button below:

All appointments with the Writing Center are scheduled to be an hour long; whether you use the entire hour is up to you. If you have any questions regarding the Writing Center, please contact the Writing Center Facilitator, Cheryl Scharnweber by email, Cheryl.Scharnweber@cuw.edu.

Preparing for an appointment

Please bring a description of the assignment guidelines, and if you have an outline or written draft, please bring that as well. You may also bring class notes or handouts explaining the project, sources that you want to use and any brainstorming or questions that you have.

If you schedule an appointment merely for extra credit does not mean your visit will be quick. Telling the consultant that you are only there for extra credit does not mean that they will just sign a form for you and let you leave. Come prepared to discuss your paper and actively participate in your appointment.

Please note: the Writing Center looks at academic writing specifically for courses here at Concordia. We do not look at resumes or cover letters. However, if you need advice with either of those you can go to the Career Services office in Rincker 004. They will be glad to help you out!

What if I don't have an appointment but need help?

You are always free to check the ARC and the Library desks to see if the consultants are free. If you find a consultant who isn't working with anybody, you can ask them if they will work with you on your assignment. While we happily accept walk-ins, we recommend that you make an appointment, especially near midterms and finals.
